July 13 / July 15 / July 16 / July 16 evening / July 17 / July 18 / July 18 evening July 19 / July 20 / July 21 / July 22 / July 23 / July 23 evening / July 24 July 16 evening We didn't have a room for tonight so we loaded the car quickly to drive to Saint Lary and start looking. It was a small town and I was afraid we could end up in the car tonight. We drove way too close to Saint Lary and found all hotels 'complete', so we headed away from town and crossed our fingers. We stopped at a small but very cute (Angie) hotel. I waited outside because I wasn't expecting a room. Angie came running out with a big smile. The hotel had recently been purchased by a couple from Ireland. The owner said they had been booked for a year on this night, but someone had called 30 minutes earlier and cancelled and the hotel only had 5 rooms. If we had stopped when we drove by the first time, we wouldn't have gotten a room. Must have had some luck left over from Angie's four-leaf clover. We tossed our bag in the room and came right back down to the restaurant for dinner and a beer. The bartendar was also Irish and when we sat down he announced there were only English in the bar tonight, so "No speaking French!" We had a great dinner. The waitress was a big Lance fan so we brought in a couple of our yellow Lance Fans that we've been passing out. She told us her story about meeting Lance and was so excited that he was riding well again this year.
